The underground columned cathedral offers a sensational and spectacular ambience for events of all kinds. In the 1870s, Julius Bötzow opened Berlin’s most modern brewery at 247 Prenzlauer Allee in what is now Kollwitz-Kietz. Part of the complex is a 4000 square meter storage cellar and a beer garden for around 6000 people.
The beer enjoyed great popularity and soon Julius Bötzow was able to call himself the first “Purveyor to the Court of His Majesty the King of Prussia”.
During the Second World War, many parts of the factory building were destroyed, including the family villa and the bar building.
Legend has it that the then managing director rescued two crocodiles from Berlin Zoo before the war and hid them in the brewery’s fermentation tank. It is possible that they are still in the old cellar vaults of the building.
In the 1990s, techno enthusiasts found a place for illegal parties in the cellar vaults of the destroyed building.
In 2011, the go-ahead was given to bring the “Sleeping Beauty” back to life and the Deep event location is now located in the large area.

In our kitchen we do not process any animal species that are threatened with extinction, no meat for which rainforests are cut down and no plants / fruit / vegetables that have a lasting impact on resources and habitats.
We only serve meat from animals from healthy and species-appropriate husbandry whose origin, rearing, husbandry and slaughter are 100% documented.
